Building The Villagers meant building a community around it — day after day, one conversation at a time. Below is a look at those moments.

Starting the Villagers

I began by posting on X and Discord, promoting my art and gaining fans and followers over time. Eventually, I had a strong community of people who supported me on my journey. I posted frequent updates so they would always be apprised of the latest events concerning The Villagers.

The Mint

Once we were ready to mint the NFT collection, I poured my time and energy into connecting with my fans and sharing their excitement. Lots of people minted Villagers and were eager to show them off to the rest of the community.

Daily Moments

Every day I spent time talking with people in Discord and on X, building relationships and encouraging their fandom of The Villagers. As time went on, a strong community grew around the art and the story.

Launching the Game

When the game was ready to launch, I communicated clearly to the community about the rules, the rewards, and the timing. I kept them informed the whole way, so they had confidence in what we were building and were never confused about what to expect.

Playing the Game

Once the game went live, the community immediately loved it and wanted to share their best scores! I encouraged them to post their favorite characters and best results in the game.

Running a Contest

To keep the excitement at a high level, I ran contests for our community with prizes for the winners. One contest involved a "teaser" for an upcoming reveal and asked people to post their best guesses for what would be revealed. The community had lots of fun with that.

Customer Support

With any game, there will be some problems. We had our fair share of customer support requests, and I attempted to handle them with respect and humility. We replied to every single person who reached out with an issue.

Rare Mint

When it was time for the rare mint, featuring brand new characters, I once again leaned into the community aspect of The Villagers and we were rewarded with tremendous support from our fans who minted over 1,000 rare NFTs. They enjoyed showing off the ones they minted!

Game Update

Our next step was to update the game by adding the new rare characters to it. As usual, I communicated clearly to set expectations about what would be delivered and the timelines. When it went live, our community was quick to show how much they loved it.

King of the Hill Contest

To add another layer of fun within the community, I created a Discord-based game called King of the Hill, where each person could post the top score they received on a daily basis and try to earn the crown given for the top score after 5 days. This game-within-a-game created even more engagement in Discord and kept the community coming back every day.
